Love or hate Apple, their TV ads are a perfect reflection of the brand.  Simple, funny, easy to understand, and emotional.  I like this recent iPhone 4S ad about SIRI better than the two previous ones.  Maybe it’s that Christmas spirit.  The “Go easy on the cookies” part was great, perfect copywriting.  In traditional iPhone [...]

I throughly enjoy this TV spot by agency RKCR/Y&R.  Definitely took heavy influence from Discovery’s “Boom de yada” spots but the idea to use Sir David Attenbourgh (narrator for the hit series “Planet Earth”) to read “What a Wonderful World” is a really great idea.  Nice job!

This spot by DDB London is a bit risque for a clothing brand, but those Brits are always more daring than Americans.  The point is straightforward and i like that they used a variety of body types (aka “normal people”).  I’m a bit surprised they didn’t do a closer money shot of the girl at [...]

I dig this spot by W+K New York.  The sepia tone of the film gives it a rich almost vintage look, the idea of making a ramp out of the basketball court to illustrate the height and grace of his jump.  I also like that unlike most of these commercials it’s not about the dunk, [...]

Never miss a sign New Ford Focus with Traffic Sign Recognition Advertising Agency: Bold Ogilvy & Mather, Greece Copywriter: Lazaros Nikiforidis Copywriter: George Kouveliotis Art Director: Vangelis Tolias Photographer: Michail Vasilis Published: November 2011 The lowest common denominator for a lack of a creative idea is to use sex.  There are some that argue that [...]

So i’m sure the hard core fans have already digested everything related to the iPhone 4S but i wanted to share the first SIRI TV spot that aired recently. The TVC mostly cuts off peoples heads (to focus on their mouth) and does a pretty good job of staying close to the Apple “flavor” with [...]

Remember those old B&W Godzilla movies?  Man the Japanese sure know how to wreck stuff.  Anyways, this neat campaign does what few do, it creates a truly integrated experience by tying in this TVC with an online microsite that allows you to demolish your own home by typing in your address.  Check it out!

“Some people are lucky in life” “For the rest of us, saving up can be smart” As a completely straight guy can i still have a twinge of bitterness?  Perhaps it’s the not so fond memories of many late night drinking aftermaths…

Deutsch LA shows once again why they’re one of the top shops on the West Coast with this great ad for Playstation.  They’ve done a great job since they “snatched” the account from incumbent TBWA\Chiat\Day LA. A new tagline Long Live Play accompanies it.  As with most great creative the concept is decidedly simple; salute [...]

Nike continues to stay with their “Just do it” branding rather successfully while Adidas has never really managed to come up with something better than their iconic “Impossible is Nothing.”  In my opinion they should never have left it.  “Impossible is Nothing” was reaching near iconic branding and was a close competitor to “Just do [...]
